I remembered posting this in weddingsATwork.com egroup, so I'd like to share this especially for my kumareng Shy:
1) It helps to have a theme to make everything go together. Our love for music & simplicity & elegance made this wedding a very memorable one for us, so from our cake, games, table numbers, invites, even vows has something that relates to music.
It also gives a chance for the couple na makita ang personality nila sa wedding nila, thus making it "personalized" and more meaningful. Hindi generic. More heartfelt.

Our reception has "guess the song titles" on the table numbers & "charades" instead of the garter & boquet tosses. Gave them starbucks GC's so they joined!
We even had a 90's songs remixed (Rump Shaker, Ragga muffin Girl & U can't touch this) for our first dance and sobrang aliw (Being 90's kids & all)! Sa sobrang patok iilan lang ang nakakuha ng video! I keep on hearing comments from our guests how they so liked our reception, modern & very relaxed. No dull moment daw & we were so happy coz it was our prayers from the start!
2) it's never early to prepare for a wedding. una dahil di ko kasi naramdaman yung stress na naramdaman ng friends ko na naunang nag-asawa sa akin..iba pa rin ang matitipid ng early bookings as long as sure kayo sa date at sa priorities nyo. Avoid impulse booking!
3) pagusapan nyo lang ng husband to be/wife to be nyo kung ano yung navi-visualize nyo sa most special day nyo and from there, magkaka-idea ka na kayo.

6) focus on 1-2 priorities & do not fuss to much on the rest. If you focus on your gown & food, that's it. A lot of people say that "a wedding is just one day pero a marriage is a lifetime", pero you are investing on memories here and it can't be bought! so stick on priorities. less than a month i was also obsessing on getting a really nice cake pero good thing my husband kept me focused on our needs. that's his part, it seems! hahaha!
idagdag ko lang din, as said by another w@wie Kendz, trust your suppliers. kaya dapat i-meet mo muna sila. hindi rin lahat ng likeable kausap will perform well so it helped me so much when I joined w@w, kasi I saw real feedbacks from previous brides. ang dami ko talagang natutunan kaya hanggang ngayon, even if lurker na lang ako sa egroup na yon, I still give suggestions kasi that's what they did to me to. pay it forward talaga! =)
have fun preparing! i really miss the wedding preps!
